Day 01: arrival in Kathmandu
You will be warmly welcomed at the airport by our representative and then you will be transfer to hotel. Our staff will give a brief explanation about the program. Rest and easy, enjoy the evening around thamel to feel the tourist atmosphere while you are in thamel.
Day 02: sightseeing around kathmandu valley
This day, our staff will take you around cultural heritage sites located in Kathmandu. Which includes patan durbar square, pashupatinath temples and boudhanath stupa. Then you'll be back to hotel and preparation for trekking.
Day 03: fly to nepalgunj
Well this is the day you will depart to your adventure trip. You'll fly to nepalgunj the city situated on the south western part of nepal. Up on your arrival in nepalgunj, you'll be take to explore around city, which is fully garnished with various culture and religion. Stay overnight at nepalgunj.
Day 04: fly to jufal
Around 35 min fly from nepalgunj you'll reach to jufal. You may observed an amazing beauty of snow caped mountains from your flight as well. Jufal is little village in the mountain. Stay overnight and preparation for trek.
Day 05: jufal trek to chepka
Trekking to chepka is an amazing itself. We will start descent through a vegetable fields then crops the big suspension bridge at thulo pheri river. Then we will enter to the she phoksundo nationalpark. She phoksundo nationalpark has a trans himalayan ecosystem and tibetic types of flora and fauna. Then you'll continue to chepka, it is a beautifull village surrounded by fields where locals can grow, wheat, maize, millet, potatoes etc. Stay overnight there.
Day 06: treking to Palma
Walking from Palma is another exciting day, which offers golden opportunity to interact with the peoples they work with mules loaded with with traditional tibetan herbal medicine. You can have an experience about treatment from herbs. Herbal medicine is known as great than other chemicals medicine. Couple of times ups and downs the trails will take us to Palam. Stay overnight there.
Day 07: treking to phoksundo lake
Well Nepal is country known as a 2nd richest in the world for water resources due to high himalayan area having numerous glacier and lakes. She phoksundo is one of the glacial lake which expand its beauty throught the country. People leaving here practice bon religion. It is said that dolpa used to be a center of bon kingdom. Stay overnight.
Day 08: aclimatization and explore around
Acclimatise during the trip is one of the ideal way to prevent altitude sickness. After days walking we most rest and explore around the area. This day we will visit lake and village around. Stay overnight.
Day 09: trek to sallaghari
This day we will get in to restricted area of upper dolpo. This day we will follow the popular trail where famous documentary was cast. The route used to be major trading route to tibet as well. An amazing trails through the passes offers amazing beauty of mountains including kanjirowa himal. Stay overnight
Day 10: hike to lartsa
This is going to be beautiful day, walking through rocky walls both side of the trails and passing through numbers of waterfalls make the journey more inviting. Beautifull valley and George makes the journey extra joyfull. Stay overnight
Day 11: trek to shey gumba
This day, total walking around 7 hour you'll reach to she gumba, where few houses and monastery located. The gumba ( monastery) is said to be build during 11th century by the tibetan boudist who came on a back of flying snow lion. That is why this area is spiritual zone. Many pilgrims visit this gumba to performs their ritual every year. Stay overnight.
Day 12: aclimatization day
Upper dolpo trip is one of the adventurous trip of lifetime. This required plenty of aclimatization to keep fit and fine in terms of health to success the trip. So why this is another day of aclimatization must required. During day our guide will take you to explore around. Tsakang gumba is one of the alternative to explore which is not exactly monastery but retreat centre. Tsakang has been a retreat centre of numerous lamas from tibet. Stay overnight.
Day 13: trek to namgung
This day adventures trail leads you to namgung via sheyla pass which is about 5000m. Shey la pass offers you amazing view of the northern part of tibetan plateau known as highest plateu in the earth. Mustang valley is visible in the east. After the pass trail drop towards to namgung, where friendly locals welcomes us. Stay overnight.
Day 14: namgung to saldang
On this day, we will step descent to beautifull village saldang, the biggest village of the lower dolpo area. The village is prosperous bot only due to fertile land but also due to the strategic location enroute to tibet. Stay overnight.
Day 15: saldang to sibu
Hiking to sibu is breath catching. The trails leads through beautifull terraced fields, stupas, mani walls, monastery as well as namdo village. Around 6 hour journey finally end up in sibu. Stay overnight.
Day 16: trek to jengla
Walking to jengla take around 5 hours. Following the river valley trail is easy eventhough afterwards about 2 hours walking we must make turn in to side valley where the rise begin very sharp. Stay overnight.
Day 17: trek to Tokogaun
This day trek to tokogaun leads you through the jengla pass 4850. Ascend to jengla pass takes about 2 hours. The summit provides us excellent view of mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m. Then we will descent to tarap valley. Tarap valley provides spectacular scene of high mountains and vast plants spreading 20km along the tarapchu river. Stay overnight.
Day 18: trek to dho tarap
Trekking to dho tarap, the trail is easy comparatively, it leads along downwards lower of tarapchu. The trails carved with mani walls, however some of the shortens are in critical condition. Dho tarap is surrounded by mani walls and consist of several houses. Bon and buddhism are the major religion practicing by locals. Stay overnight.
Day 19: Dho to Serkam
On this day trails generally downhill through tarap khola. You will go through narrow George's and rushing river. Marmots, yaks, sheep, blue sheep, goats are the most common animals you may see during walk. Peoples of dolpo take their bunch of sheeps and goats to the lower pasture as snow falls heavy up during winter. Stay overnight at serkam.
Day 20: serkam to tarakot
This day we will walk around 5 hours through new suspension bridge and walk alongside the river, ups and downs to the river then coming in to the broad fertile valley of the banbung chu. You'll walk through various crops of millet, barley, buckwheat, sweetcorn, beans and chillies. Tarakot is an old fortress town called by the local dzong as well means fort. Before gorkha dynasty tarakot was capital and had a dzong. The popular sandul Gompa is lies about 8 km east of tarakot. Visit to the sandul gompa is an ideal for a short hike around. Stay overnight.
Day 21: tarakot to dunai
Walking to Dunai from tarakot is mostly downhill. Walking beside the bheri river energies your body and soul by amazing atmosphere. Around 5 hours of hike you'll reach to dunai village. Stay overnight.
Day 22: Dunai to jufal
By the way, this is final day of your hike. The journey from dunai to jufal takes around 3 hours. The path is combinations of both flats and gradual steps. Stay overnight.
Day 23: return to Kathmandu
This day, you'll fly to to nepalgunj early morning. Then you'll connect with the flight to Kathmandu. Then transfer to hotel. Stay overnight.
Day 24: departure
This day, our representative will drop you at the airport according to your flight shedule to fly back home.
